Charles Hurst opened a new and approved used Jaguar car sales facility coinciding with the launch of the much-talked about new Jaguar XF.
The new showroom compliments its approved Jaguar aftersales facility, which opened in May 2007 and has already re-established the franchise at the site.
This latest development brings the dealership full circle – prior to 1997 the business had been a joint Land Rover and Jaguar sales and aftersales facility for several years and seven long-serving members of the team were employed at that time. It means that with these employees and the Jaguar aftersales team, the dealership already has 25 years of Jaguar experience on hand. In fact, the Jaguar roots at the business are extremely strong - Sir John Eagen, former chairman of Jaguar Cars, opened the site in 1990.
And it’s not only the franchises which have come full circle at the business: aftersales manager Paul King undertook the same role in 1997 when both Land Rover and Jaguar operated at the centre. After working elsewhere, Paul returned to the business in 2006. He said: “It is wonderful to have both Land Rover and Jaguar back under the same roof and even better that we have several members of staff who worked with both franchises at this site previously. We have already seen some of the former Jaguar customers return here since we opened the service facility and we expect to see even more now we are operating as a sales centre.”
